I have always wanted to draw a landscape that looked somewhat dreamy and distant. The main problems were that I had no experience in doing this specific type of art and I do not really know what tools or brushes were needed for the different types of effects that I wanted to create (and I still am uncertain). Using the vast knowledge of the internet and google images, I was able to pick up on a few styles that I really liked and tried to incorporate them into this picture.

This is my first sketch of the "Fantasy World".

To color the drawing, I used the watercolor brush. I am used to outlining everything first in black and then adding colors, but I tried skipping this step to see if it would look more hazy or dreamy.

In order to get rid of the lines made by my brush, I used different tools that had smearing properties to see which one worked out best.

I added the clouds after I colored the above pictures, so here are the samples.

My color seemed pretty light so I tried to layer the drawing to see if the contrast added would improve on this.

After a lot of experimenting, trial, and error, I took what seemed to look best from each of the tools'  samples and combined them together.
The sky is smeared with the sea sponge, the ravine by the palette knife, and finally the grass/trees using the drop tool.
