Suicide Prevention Animation

For school I was given a task to create a suicide prevention 30 sec short that would be submitted to the Directing Change film contest. It took quite a bit of work and turned out better than I expected, animation wise, even though I had to cut over 2,000 frames just to fit the 30 sec criteria (it was horrible :,) ). If this film proves anything, it is that I have absolutely no patience to deal with sound effects. I spent about an hour looking at sounds and none of them were to my liking, after which I when and recorded my own, resulting in an instant delete. I think then most immediate thing on my agenda is to put together a simple animation with royalty free sound effects just to see that my perception of good and bad sounds is faulted, heavily.

Special thanks to my dad for the great ideas and my teacher Mr. Day for all the help!

Here is the video with just backgrounds and key frames/in-betweens.

Here is the final product. I could not find ear ringing sounds so I just went with tv static.
